The 2021 Westerwood 5k is back with a NEW Middle Mile Challenge!
We’re excited for the 3rd annual Westerwood 5k. The 5k course rolls through the historic Westerwood neighborhood streets and part of the greenway along Buffalo Creek. New for 2021, we have added the Middle Mile Challenge, which is a timed one mile segment from mile 1 to 2 of the 3.1 mile course. The middle mile challenge starts and finishes at the the iconic Fairmont Avenue bridge, with plenty of hills in between.
You have two great race options for 2021:
1) Westerwood 5k with Middle Mile Challenge: Those interested in competing for overall, age group, and team awards must run or walk with a bib on the Westerwood 5k course on November 7, 2021
2) 5k – Race Anywhere: Those who are out of town can opt for the virtual race, where you can participate from anywhere! To receive your t-shirt and bib, a mailed packet option is available for a small fee.
The Westerwood 5k is a fundraiser for two well known local charities. Greensboro Urban Ministry offers food, shelter and solutions to those in need. Backpack Beginnings offers solutions to feed, comfort and cloth children in need. We encourage you to support these charitable organizations as you register for this year’s race.

Rules & Guidelines
In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.
Refund Policy: No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event within 30 days of the event start date. Earlier than 30 days before the event, a request may be made for a 50% refund (this will be 50% of entry fee, excluding any processing fees). Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy. Transfer policy: Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. T-shirt size will not be changeable. Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year.
