Last year, 12,000 runners across the country participated in the first-ever Fleet Feet nationwide 5K, The Big Run, on Global Running Day.
In 2018, The Big Run is back and bigger than ever.
On June 6, Fleet Feet locations nationwide, in partnership with Brooks and Nuun, will hold one of two 5K events: either a (super) fun run or a certified, timed 5K race.
All results from certified, timed 5K races will funnel up into a national leaderboard to determine and reward the overall fastest runners and age groupers in the country with some pretty cool cash prizes. And since this is Fleet Feet, and we celebrate and welcome runners of all abilities and levels, we will also recognize runners with some truly unique awards, including:
● Common Ground: Finish at the most common finish time for The Big Run, and we’ll enter you into a drawing for something BIG!
● Middle of the Pack: We’ll recognize the male and female who finish in the exact middle of all The Big Run results.
● Social Butterflies: We’ll thank the two people with the most-engaged social media posts from The Big Run with some pretty sweet.

Race Day
- 5:00 – 5:45pm – Packet Pick Up at the race site
- 6:00pm – Race Start
- 6:15pm – Post Race Activities, including food and drinks
- 7:10pm – Awards

ALL participants receive a finisher medal.
5K awards to overall male & female open, 3 deep in each age group:
- 14 and under
- 15-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70+
Awards for The BIG Run nationwide
Fastest male and female: The fastest female and male in the land will each receive $500!
Fastest age grouper, male and female: The fastest male and female in the below age groups will each receive $100:
- 14 and under
- 15-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70+
In the middle of it all: The male and female who finish in the exact middle of all finishers in the country in their gender receive $500!
Common ground: We’ll enter each person who finishes at the most common time across the country into a drawing for $500!
Social butterflies: Any participants who post a photo from The Big Run and includes #TheBigRun @FleetFeetSports, @BrooksRunning, is eligible to win one of three pairs of exclusive, The Big Run custom Goodrs, provided by Brooks!
Rules
Rules & Guidelines
In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.
Refund Policy: No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event within 30 days of the event start date. Earlier than 30 days before the event, a request may be made for a 50% refund (this will be 50% of entry fee, excluding any processing fees). Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy. To request a refund, please contact us on our Contact page and select “Registration” as the reason for your message.
Transfer policy: Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. T-shirt size will not be changeable. Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year.
