Declan’s Dash will again join the Trivium Running Series for 2016. This is an amazing event that raises money to build playgrounds throughout the Triad!
This pending USATF certified race course features an out and back course that starts and ends at Declan’s Playground at Harmon Park. Our family friendly event has great food, prizes and fun for participants of all ages, strollers and dogs welcomed. Timing for the event is being provided by Trivium Racing, and awards will be given in the 5K for the top three overall male and female runners and the top three runners for eight designated age groups. Last year more than $1,000 in prizes was awarded to the top finishers and for door prizes.
The Declan Donoghue Foundation was started in memory of Declan Nicholas Donoghue, who passed away on September 2, 2010 at the age of two of a rare immune genetic disorder, which was not diagnosed until after his death. The foundation’s mission is to celebrate the memory and spirit of Declan, by funding and creating places for children to play. To date, the Declan Donoghue Foundation has built three, commercial grade playgrounds at Harmon Park and Ivy M Redmon Sports Complex, both located in Kernersville, and Marylene F. Griffin Recreation Center located in Greensboro.
The goal of this years race is to raise funds to build a fourth playground in honor of Declan. The location is still pending but scheduled for a Summer 2016 build in Greensboro. In addition, the foundation supports the Kernersville Parks and Recreation department with our Spirit of Play Scholarship to offer camp tuition to those who would otherwise not be able to attend camps.

In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.
Refund Policy: No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event within 30 days of the event start date. Earlier than 30 days before the event, a request may be made for a 50% refund (this will be 50% of entry fee, excluding any processing fees). Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy. Transfer policy: Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. T-shirt size will not be changeable. Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year.
