“Whiskey Tango Foxtrot were you thinking racing a trail half marathon that crosses a creek at the end of February?” This is what racers of the WTF Half Marathon are likely to be asked after crossing the finish line.
In 2021, we have four race ambassadors with varying experience levels on this WTF course. For some, it will be their first year conquering the river crossing, and for others, they have joined us each year. Whether this is your first trail race, first river crossing, first half marathon, or you are a WTF veteran, you will be joined by others on the course who will help push you to the finish line.
Let’s meet four racers you are likely to meet on race day. This is your 2021 WTF ambassador team:
Jackie Demchock
- Location: Fayetteville, NC

Jackie has a goal to finish a half marathon in all fifty states and has currently checked off five states from the list. As someone who now enjoys racing 13.1 miles, it hasn’t always been that way. Jackie started running in high school and at that time she didn’t run anything over 400 meters. After high school, Jackie took a break from running and picked it up again about six years ago when she was asked to be a Girls on the Run coach at her school.
Jackie spends her days working as a teacher. When she isn’t running, teaching, or coaching, she is most likely knitting, reading, and spoiling her pit bull, Zoe.
Angeline Saferight Lloyd
- Location: Rural Retreat, VA

Angeline started her journey with running at the age of thirty as a way to prevent weight gain from smoking cessation. Through running, Angeline found that not only did she meet her primary goal but her all-around lifestyle also benefited from this new passion. In the summer of 2007, she ran her first 5k race. This quickly led to her first half marathon finish in 2008 and conquering a marathon in 2009. Angeline didn’t stop there. A few years later, she crossed the finish line of her first 50k! This month, Angeline will be joining the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot for the fifth year in a row.
Angeline is a mental health clinician at a nonprofit. Angeline’s other passions include painting, writing fiction, and drawing. Her favorite holiday is Halloween and due to her love of art, she enjoys creating special effect makeup for herself and others.
Hunter Pardue
- Location: Greenville, NC

Hunter has completed five 200 mile relay races, two marathons, a few half marathons, and recently finished his first 50k trail race. While he enjoys racing, his favorite race day memories are when he is pushing for Ainsley’s Angels. While he is joining the WTF Half, he is primarily training for the 100 mile relay at the Blackbeard’s Revenge 100. This relay and ultra race is a pirate-themed Trivium Racing event taking place in March along the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Hunter is a third grade teacher who is passionate about his career, learning about all things weather, and caring for his backyard garden. When he isn’t running or in his garden, you’re likely to find him reading or rewatching old survivor episodes.
Ruthie Williams
- Location: Garner, NC

Ruthie first started running at the age of 46 and never looked back. Since then, she has completed marathons and ultramarathons. Ruthie has completed two world major marathons and her current goal is to complete all six. The next world major on her list is London in 2021.
In 2017, Ruthie completed the Trivium Racing Mega Medal Series and will be tackling race #1 of the series in 2021 with her Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Half Marathon finish.
In addition to running, Ruthie loves to spend time with her children, enjoy a glass of wine with friends, hike, kayak, and travel.
