We will be working closely with the state to implement all necessary Covid measures to have a safe in-person event. Modifications may include removal of post race activities, wave starts, and modified courses. We cannot predict what February will look like in terms of the current pandemic, but we are committed to doing everything we can to host a live event. Please make sure you are aware of our refund policy (found both on the registration page and under our rules page) prior to signing up. We hope to see everyone in March!
Northern Trails is back for its seventh year in 2021 and we are excited! This early spring trail race is one of the most beautiful trail races in the Piedmont, and is a great beginner race for trail runners, an awesome prep race for those preparing for an Ultra, and a perfect A race for those looking to hit the trails hard for a fast time!
Come on out and enjoy the trails along Lake Brandt and Lake Townsend with us! This race will again be a part of the Trivium Mega Medal Series, and a part of the Trivium Racing Series.

Parking for this event will be available on site at Northern Guilford High School. Even better, you don’t need to worry about your bags or keys because Fleet Feet will be there to hold onto your goodies while you race!
Schedule of Events
Early Packet Pick-Up & Registration:
- Friday, March 12th, 4:00pm – 7:00pm @ Fleet Feet Greensboro (3731 Lawndale Drive)
Race Day – March 13th:
- 7:00am – 8:30am – Race-Day Registration and Packet Pick-Up
- 8:30 am – Marathon Race Start
- 8:50 am – 10 Mile Race Start (note: we are starting the 10 Mile race 20 minutes after the Marathon to reduce congestion on the trails. We will keep 10 miler registration open until 8:30 for this reason)
- 3:30 pm – Course Closes

After taking 2019 off on a new course we were back to our original course in 2020. This course is measured with a wheel and GPS. Most GPS on the marathon will come out to 23.9 to 25.1 for course distance. Remember that GPS are inaccurate in the woods. We measure using both tools to get a 26.2 mile course for you!

Northern Trails 10 Miler: This is a great out and back course. We will be using different sections of the Bill Craft trail on the southern portion to reduce congestion on the return trip for runners!

Rules & Guidelines
In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.
Refund Policy: No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event within 30 days of the event start date. Earlier than 30 days before the event, a request may be made for a 50% refund (this will be 50% of entry fee, excluding any processing fees). Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy. To request a refund, please contact us on our Contact page and select “Registration” as the reason for your message.
Transfer policy: Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. T-shirt size will not be changeable. Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year.
