About

Seize the Day and Seize the Night in 2023 with one of Trivium’s favorite events! The race will take place on the beautiful and smooth trails of Proud Lake State Recreation Area. These trails are perfect for running both day and night and will offer a chance for lightning fast trail-race times!
The event includes both a long (Half Marathon) and short (10K ) option in the morning and evening. The morning race will be completely in daylight and the evening option will start before dark, but many people will finish after the sun has gone down!
We will have both a day medal, and a night medal. If you do both events your two medals will connect to make one complete medal.
*Night Running: Keep in mind that the evening race starts at 7:00 pm. This means that potentially you will be running after dark and will need lights (headlamps preferred but a flashlight will do) to complete the race depending on your pace!

There will be tons of parking available right at the starting area, which is in the RV campground, please make sure you use the correct address as the starting line is not near the main entrance of the state park, but rather at the campground entrance!
This is a state park so to enter the state park you will need a State Park Passport (good at all parks all year) upon arrival. This money will be collected at the gate if you do not already have one, but it’s cheaper to get it ahead of time!

Maps
Course Maps
Our 10K course is very similar to the Half marathon course, but only one lap and you will turn off early on the far side of the course. These trails are very smooth and well groomed, perfect for a flying fast time!
Our Half Marathon course is the reverse of our Black Toenail Friday Course. These is an awesome fun course, and will be even more fun in the dark! If you did Carpe last year, these will trails have less hills, and are extremely well groomed!
