New for 2025 we have changed the distances for this race – offering the 17 Mile, 10 Mile, and 5 Mile distances for runners and ruckers. With the early spring date, you never know what weather you’ll have on the trails, but embrace it & have fun!

Thumb Coast Ultra and Relay
Save the date for Saturday, April 26th, 2025 and choose between the 50 Mile, 50K, or grab a team for the 50 Mile Relay for the 2nd Annual Thumb Coast Ultra & Relay! Highball to Thurmond Ultra Marathon & Relay
We’re raising the highball and proceeding full speed ahead towards May 18, 2025. Join Trivium Racing for 50 Miles, 50K, and the 50 Mile Relay on the gorgeous trails through New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia and race the train to the finish line in Thurmond. Beat the last call whistle at 6:45 pm and make sure you’re on the 6:59 pm train back to Montgomery when they raise the highball! We’ll raise a glass of champagne to all our finishers before boarding and you can celebrate your epic adventure with fellow runners on the ~50 minute ride. ☀️ The course is friendly to trail- and ultra-beginners and perfect for runners looking to set a PR. The trail is relatively smooth and not overly technical, featuring only 1100’ of gain over the entire 50K.
☀️ Cut-off times are generous at 20:00/mile for the 50K and 45:00/mile for the HM.
☀️ Don’t have a crew? Don’t need one! The 5 Mile has one aid station at the midway point, the HM has five aid stations, and the 50K has six aid stations that you pass twice each for a total of 12. Check out this post to see the savory, sweet, and crunchy options.
☀️ No one likes getting lost. Trivium races are known for being extremely well-marked, even if you’re running fast, and hard to get lost on.

Rock CF Thumb Coast Marathon, Half, & 5K
The Rock CF Foundation and Trivium Racing are excited to bring to life the Thumb Coast Marathon: A flat, fast course featuring stunning views of Lake Huron on November 2nd, 2025. Starting in historic downtown Caseville, Michigan, this point-to-point course will travel east with a downtown finish in beautiful Port Austin, Michigan.
The full Marathon will start in Caseville and finish in Port Austin; the Half Marathon will start in Sleeper State Park and finish at the same location in Port Austin. The 5K will be a loop around downtown Port Austin, featuring the same finish line as the Full and Half.
