Wixom Derby Day 5K and 10K

Wixom Derby Day 5K & 10K, will kick off with an 8 am start.  All finishers will receive a 16 oz. Derby Day cup filled with discount coupons for your favorite Derby drinks.  Our local restaurants will also be opening early to serve great food and don’t forget your best Derby Hat!  Top runners and Best Hat prizes (people and/or pets) will be awarded.  Before and after, stretch with a professional.  Run, Food, Music and Fun!  Our inaugural Derby Day run will support our local Wixom Firefighters Foundation.

Parking

Parking is available in and around the race area.  The town hall and public library parking near the start line will fill up quickly so make sure to leave time to get from your car to the starting line.

Child care during the event:

For Little People Childcare Center in Wixom would like to provide care for the runners participating in the Derby Day Races. They are a licensed childcare center in downtown Wixom and have been providing loving care for over 20 years.  The cost will be $10 per child and $2 for each additional child. They will be available from 7am-11am on race day.  Here is a link to our Facebook page. Please send a message through that page or give them a call at 248-669-9553 if you would like childcare.

First Baptist Church, 620 N. Wixom Rd (a few blocks from the race course), is providing free parking and free childcare for race participants.  Children up to 10 years of age may be registered at the door and dropped off for care beginning at 7:30 AM and picked up by 11:00 AM.  You may call 248-624-3823 or email brad.stille@fbcwixom.org to pre-register your child before race day.   Find out more about FBCW by logging on to www.fbcwixom.org or checking out their Facebook page at “First Baptist Church of Wixom”.

Awards to the top 3 males and females in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69. 70+.

Course Maps

    10K

    The 10K route will be a fast well marked out and back 10K with a small loop at the top turn around of the course.  This race breaks away from the 5K at about 1.5 miles.  This will be a great course for those looking to get their 10K PR this spring.

    5K

    This will be a fun 5K route meandering through the north neighborhoods if Wixom.  With a few small hills this course will not over challenge, but will have a little bit of up and down to the course.  Finish quick, and enjoy the post race festivities!

Rules & Guidelines

In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.

Refund Policy: No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event within 30 days of the event start date. Earlier than 30 days before the event, a request may be made for a 50% refund (this will be 50% of entry fee, excluding any processing fees). Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy. Transfer policy: Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. T-shirt size will not be changeable. Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year.
