Northeast Duathlon 2018

About

You know Multisport season has come to North Carolina when it is time for The Northeast Duathlon. The first race in Trivium’s Multisport Series Championship, this event is a quick way to jump start the season.  This sprint distance du (1.6 run, 10.5 bike, 1.6 run) is a great way to ring in the 2017 season!  With a flat fast run and a short challenging bike course you will be kissing your winter blues away! Take off the trainer tires, dust the cobwebs off the race belt, and help us celebrate the start of 2018!

To top off a great first race of the season, you’ll get a one-of-a-kind NE Park DU ski cap in lieu of a shirt and a glass of beer (for those of age)!

Maps

Course Maps

    Run Map (1.6 miles)

The run course is on a paved park path around the interior of Northeast Park and runners will do 2 loops. This a fast smooth run! NEW IN 2018 the second run will be a reverse of the first run!

    Run 1 record: Neil Skoog (2014): 8:29
    Run 2 record: Neil Skoog (2014): 8:38

Lap 1 of Run: See map to link to the right.  The first and second lap are pretty much the same except on the first lap you will continue straight to start the second lap and on the second lap you will head right at the end to head into transition area.

    Lap 2 of Run:

On this lap you will head slightly right at the very end of the lap to enter transition area. (again we have modified the course to simplify by having the second run go in reverse of the first run.)

    Bike Course (10.5 miles)

The bike course exits Northeast Park and makes a loop on the country roads surrounding the park. The bike course is on roads with low traffic, and they will not be closed to traffic. We will have police and volunteers at each major intersection to ensure the safety of participants.

Bike Course Record: Albert Harrison (2014) 26.17
