EVENT UPDATE (7/20/2020) –
We have been informed by the City of High Point, that, with the recent extension of North Carolina’s Phase 2 Covid response through August 7th, the city is not ready to allow events. We do believe that we are edging closer to real in-person events in NC and we have prepared and submitted dynamic plans in order to gain approval. Despite all that, we are at the mercy of the law and the interpretation of said law by each municipality in which we put on events.
The High Point Triathlon will be a virtual race in 2020. Athletes will be able do this event in a number of ways with the only restrictions being that you have to complete all 3 disciplines at the advertised race distance, and you must complete them all on the same day. The swim can be done in a pool or lake. The bike and run can be done indoors or outdoors. Transition times will not be collected, so plan your race according to what works best for you. As long as all three disciplines are done on the same day, and times are submitted, you will be in the running for awards. Athletes will have from August 8th until August 18th to complete their race. We will do medal and shirt pickup AFTER the event so athletes can get their finishers medal and any potential awards at the same time as their shirt. More details will be sent out in a week about how exactly to complete and submit your results and where you can pick up your packets.

This is a great, quick 500 meter swim. We have the course setup for minimum time swimming towards the sun and we have a lot of volunteer and rescue boat support on the course to make this event very beginner friendly!
We are still working on finalizing the 2019 bike map but it will look very similiar to last years modified map.
Everyone loved the campground run course last year that we have been allowed to bring it back! Much flatter than in previous years, last years run course is fun, and will allow spectators to see you and cheer you on more frequently!
