2019 Carpe Diem Carpe Noctem Half Marathon and 10K

About

Day of registration will be limited to Economy Package option only

For 2019 and 2020 this will be the second race in the Michigan State Parks Centennial Race Series.  This series is an opportunity to celebrate and explore 100 amazing years of state parks in Michigan!  Each race in the series will have a special commemorative coin that all athletes will receive!

Seize the Day and Seize the Night in 2019 with one of Trivium’s favorite events! This unique, fun and challenging event is headed into its second with a few changes. We love working with Proud Lake State Recreation Area so much that for 2019 we will be hosting this event, in the spring, on their gorgeous trails. These trails are significantly flatter, a bit wider, and have less roots making the course more enjoyable for those newer to trail running, and running in the dark!

The event will again offer both a long (Half Marathon) and short (10K ) option in the morning and evening. The morning race will be completely in daylight and the evening option will start before dark, but many people will finish after the sun has gone down!

We will have both a day medal, and a night medal. If you do both events your two medals will connect back to back to make on giant medal.    (2019 medal shown below)

Maps

Course Maps

Our 10K course is very similar to the Half marathon course, but only one lap and you will turn off early on the far side of the course.  These trails are very smooth and well groomed, perfect for a flying fast time!

Our Half Marathon course is the reverse of our Black Toenail Friday Course.  These is an awesome fun course, and will be even more fun in the dark!  If you did Carpe last year, these will trails have less hills, and are extremely well groomed!
